About this Sailboat:
Catalina 25 1980 Hull # 2008. I am the 2nd owner of the Evening Sun. I purchased her in 1989 and have moored in Montrose Harbor at Chicago ever since. The boat has always been on Lake Michigan and was owned by a Catalina employee before me (worked at Chalet in Wilmette, IL-where I bought the boat) . New UK sails and standing/running rigging in early 2000’s with little use since. We have purchased a summer home and spend most of our time there during the boating season. The lake is too small for a C25 and as we seldom use her anymore we have made the tough decision to sell. Also the kids are grown and no longer in the area. Boat is in the water now and ready for any sort of demo sail requested. We always take her on a two week trip around southern Lake Michigan and on this spring’s trip she was a joy to be on. She has a rare red hull with white deck. Swing keep works well with no issues and has only been used once each spring to lower the keel and once in the fall to raise. Bottom paint every few years with touch up as necessary – 5k on knot log. Sailmaster 9.9 electric start that starts easy and runs well. Priced for quick sale at $2,750 firm. Clear title in hand. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to see the boat.
Equipment on Board:
7 sails, newer UK main and 135, 9.9 Johnson Sailmaster Outboard, pop-top with cover, head with holding tank, stove, ice box, radios, fans etc
