About this Sailboat:
Reduced price! In great shape!!! One owner, family sail cruiser. Well maintained with many updates including: New Transmission, Decks and Cabin professionally refinished and Gel Coated, upgrated electrical, fresh & salt water hoses replaced and new carpeting.
Under our ownership since 1977, Yara has provided our family with many years of pleasure. The Bayfield 32 is a very stable craft, easily sailed & suitable for family cruising. She has been modified to sloop rig from cutter rig(reversable).
The interior layout works extremely well for a family of 4-5. There is a large vee birth in the fore cabin which is separated from the main cabin by an enclosed head & hanging locker. The head door also functions to close off the fore cabin for privacy. The main cabin amidships contains a large table (seating 6) which converts to a double berth, across from which is a single berth allowing 2-3 more seats at the dinette table. The aft end of the main cabin accomodates the galley and quarter berth/navigating table. The galley is separated from the quarter berth by the companion way stairs (removable for access to the 2 cylinder 20 hp diesel engine). The navigating table folds up into the hull and converts to a single quarter berth. VHF radio & GPS/Depth sounder at the navigating station. Ample storage under bunks & behind seat backs & lockers under the side decks and galley.
The stern cockpit has a large amount of storage via lazarette lockers. Steering is by a stainless steel wheel, mid cockpit with engine controls and binacle compass. All sail control lines lead aft. The 150% genoa is controlled by the roller furling line leading to the cockpit. She handles very well under sail or power. Speed under sail on a broad reach can be 10 knots, while under power at 2400 rpm she will maintain 7 knots.
Her dark forest green hull with white boot top and cream decks trimmed in teak make her very distinctive in appearance.
She boasts many pieces of equipment & ideas that make cruising easy and pleasurable. To be truly appreciated she must be viewed.
