About this Sailboat:
26′ Westerly Centaur with Trailer
Project boat needs work. The Westerly Centaur is a heavy displacement twin Keel blue water cruising sailboat that sleeps 5. Feels large and roomy for its size with stand-up headroom in the main salon. Ive owned and sailed this boat for 10 years, but its time to move on. There has been much written about the virtues of this Westerly model to justify restoring it to cruising condition. A quick web search will return a wealth of information and specifications.
The original inboard diesel engine has been removed and a transom mounded outboard engine was used in its place. Otherwise the boat is substantially complete with all standing and running rigging, main sail and 3 headsails.
The interior cabin headlining has been removed, 2 of the four main cabin windows are removed but included for re-bedding, Two thru-hull fittings for the cockpit scuppers were removed for replacement, head w/macerator holding tank needs servicing. Bottom has been stripped and ready for minor filling and painting. Primary winches were removed but included, as are most other minor parts. Some interior trim removed for refinishing.
The trailer is a road-worthy dual axle converted car trailer. The conversion is bolted on, and can be removed to convert back to a car trailer.. New brake assemblies and breakaway system installed Oct 2012. Im willing to sell the boat or trailer separately.
Photo is from a few years ago when the boat was being sailed. Photo is not of the current condition.
