About this Sailboat:
Homemade 12 Sailboat with Trailer
This unique centerboarder is a cross between a dory and a sampan with a standing lug rig. Although only 12 long, her wide beam, steep hull rocker and deep side panels provide a very spacious cockpit for stable and very controllable sailing, ideal for daysailing with family or racing! The 12 foot Pelican was first designed in 1959 by Captain William H. Short in Larkspur CA. The captain wrote that it was designed to fill the need for a safe San Francisco Bay dinghy which can be built at home easily and inexpensively. CONDITION: This boat is in good condition.
