  2. NA Tandem Sailing Kayak

    December 24, 2012

    About this Sailboat:

**Just lowered price from $1975**Top quality Tandem Sailing Kayak. The competitors sell for $14,985 or the plastic Sit-on-top $5249 plus $300 shipping. selling below what materials cost, NOT charging for over 300 hours of labor in fabrication and installation. Only top quality materials used, no cheap stainless steel from Home Depot, only marine grade.

This is a fiberglass Tandem Kayak that transforms into a stable sailor. Car tops and sets up in minutes without the need of tools, fun, safe and easy to sail, the kids will love it! Almost impossible to tip over. Can be used as just a Kayak or with Amas/Pontoons and or Sail. light weight items can be stored inside the ama’s/pontoons. The sail, boom and spar fold against mast, without taking it off, when not needed or while on the water. Easy to re-enter after swimming. (Unlike a canoe, sailboat, or fishing boat. There is no “Hiking Out” or ducking needed, so the boom doesn’t hit you in the head. Steering is accomplished with your feet on adjustable foot pegs, (Adjustment forward and back for the length of your legs)this is more natural than using a tiller. Easily sailed by one person if you cannot get another to go with you. This is a very sturdy, well built boat, seats are large and comfortable, you can lounge on top, straddle, or sit sideways, you do NOT wear this kayak like a tight pair of pants! Can be used as a SCUBA diving or duck hunting platform, photography, fishing, tender. Mast is one pc and reinforced. Boom and spar are also one pc and reinforced at fastner points. Has “Kick-up” rudder and leeboards.

What do you do if there is no wind with this Sailing kayak? A.You paddle,(Paddles well and tracks straight) if there is wind, you paddle and sail, It is amazing how much speed you can get!

  3. 1985 Wauquiez Hood 38 MK II

    December 24, 2012

    About this Sailboat:

    1985 Wauquiez Hood 38 MKII – Blue Water Racer/Cruiser!

This fast shoal draft cruiser has been well maintained, continually upgraded, and offers great sailing performance. Renowned for their superior construction and joinery, yachts built by Henri Wauquiez have long garnered a strong reputation for exceeding the demands of ardent sailors worldwide. The Hood 38, designed by Ted Hood, offers an exceptional opportunity for those seeking a fast, “go anywhere”, shallow draft cruiser built to high custom standards. The improved Mark II offers direct access to the companionway steps from the cockpit and a very spacious layout below. The solid FRP hull, thick gel coat, exceptional tabbing application and finish workmanship are all of premier quality. The tall powerful rig offers great light wind (and upwind) performance yet she is stiff, well balanced, and comfortable in a strong blow. These characteristics are what combine to have highly accomplished Navel Architect Robert Perry tell the owner that the Wauquiez Hood 38 MKII “is an exceptionally robust and well built yacht, and is his favourite sailing yacht in this class”. After 1987, this successful design went on to be produced in the US as the Little Harbour 38, and the Bristol 38, but the Wauquiez 38 remains the only one to offer the private aft cabin arrangement below.
With many recent upgrades, this particular Wauquiez Hood 38 MK II is clean, offshore ready, and outfitted for extended cruising. There is a full set of tools aboard, and the inventory includes many spare and replacement parts/essentials. Located in the Lesser Antilles Caribbean islands, she is ideally located to start your cruising dreams.

    OFFERS CONSIDERED!

    Equipment on Board:

This Wauquiez Hood 38 MK II has seen a very high level of annual maintenance and improvements. She is well equipped for offshore sailing, with a full sail and equipment inventory – too much to list here. She is in turn key condition. Recent improvements include: professional bottom job/antifouling, full professional/certified engine overhaul, new refrigeration, new dinghy davits, new electronics / navigation, new ground tackle, new satellite weather and email, electrical, and much more.
