  1. 1973 Pearson 36 Bill Shaw Design

    October 19, 2012 by EVAN

    About this Sailboat:

    Hello Prospective boat owners,

More than a few knowledgeable sailors have praised this Bill Shaw design as a triumph in the thirty-six Pearson. It might sound like exaggeration to claim the 36 is more accommodating than many 40 footers, were it not for the proud and experienced owners who have said, she exceeds the livability of many a 42!
The navigation center provides ample room for a skipper to play with time, speed, distance charts and electronics; and the open galley provides even the most calculating chef with efficient, purposeful storage and workplace. This boat has her chart plotter/radar, mounted on a swing arm, for viewing availability either at the navigation table or out in the cockpit. The navigation also has it own pilot’s berth with large under cushion storage.
The renowned Bill Shaw hit a home run when he collaborated with Pearson Yachts to create the racer 36. The solid fiberglass hull provides strength and durability and her sailing performance is well documented
    Accommodations:
With 6′ or more of headroom throughout, comfortable sleeping room for 6 and an incredibly efficient galley to feed the crew, it’s hard to imagine living anywhere but aboard! The Pearson 36 was built by a man passionate about cruising, and his appreciation for comfort under sail and on the hook shows throughout. A comfortable, dry cockpit coupled with ample stowage, freshwater or sea water in-cockpit wash down, two in hanging lockers alongside the V berth, and it’s spacious galley makes for efficient living, even in the farthest reaches.
The Master stateroom is a nice double berth, with 4 open lockers. An overhead hatch, 12v outlet and 2 (10-20 watt) reading lamps. Having 4 drawers and two large under cushion lockers. There is also 1 double berth, 2 quarter berths; to accommodate a total of 6 including Captain, 1st Mate, and guests.
