  1. 1984 home built bruce roberts spray 40

    About this Sailboat:

    pilothouse-aft cockpit & inside steering-needs finishing(galley) & steel work to the pilothouse forward corners and port forward window-forward v-berths-aft kingsize
    boat is all steel-hull,deck and pilothouse-hull is solid-no corrosion-a little surface rust on the bow-the forward corners on the pilothouse need repair-the port window base needs repair-the deck has rust spots(don’t know if rusted through-i believe a valve guide let go on one of the heads-the engine burns oil-needs new zincs in the rear (prop & keel)-i think six(6) 12 pounders welded on ( the current ones did their job)-there are 12 altogether-

    225 feet of 3/8″ bbb chain with a ~65 lb plow anchor
    250 feet of 5/8″ nylon line with a ~50 lb danforth
    12.5 kw kohler diesel gen
    2-75 gal & 1-150 gal water tanks
    2-95 gal diesel tanks
    thetford electric head(6 gal)
    tub and sink in head (not hooked up)
    aluminum davits
    hood seafurl (furling headsail ~730 sq.ft.)
    north mainsail (~350 sq.ft.)
    self tailing aluminum winches(barlow?) for 5/8″ line

    1-bilge pump used for gray water
    dual edson steering (in pilothouse & aft)
    rig is cutter-mast is 49′ from cabin top-55′ from waterline-double spreaders- inside halyards-lewmar 40 bronze winches

    engine-350 oldsmobile diesel w/osco heads (I believe a valve guide let go)

    forward v-berths-aft kingsize berth-both finished in southern yellow pine~walnut? stain hand pumiced–no galley or settee installed-inside pilothouse needs finishing(mostly done in southern yellow pine)

    hull is 3/16″-deck and pilothouse are 1/8″-keel is at least 1/2″

    draft is 4.5′-length is 42′ from bowsprit-width is 14’7″ at beam

    most i’ve seen that need work are in this range asking $34,000

    i,ve a lot more into this-rig alone was ~$7500

    37 ft Joshua Slocum Spray replica,Steel hull complete, includes lots of hardware. Engine, shaft, prop, galley equipment portlight…never has been in water, needs to be fitted out.

    Bruce Roberts 34ft steel hulled sloop. Home built in 1984. Recently refitted for offshore cruising. Many new upgrades. Just completed a trip from Alaska to Monterrey California.

    50 twin keel staysail schooner

    Equipment on Board:

    3 year old sails only used about six months custom made for the boat
    brand new water maker i have all parts and about 70% installed makes 25 gallons of fresh water per hour with engine running
    3 year old radar head only used about six months
    new lewmar electric anchor winch installed last year
    new anchor chain 200 feet 3/8 galv
    new bruce anchor and 2 cqr spare anchors
    new vhf radio
    single sideband radio with pactor III modem for sailmail and weatherfax
    all new stainless blocks for all running rigging
    3 year old hillerange galley stove 2 burner with oven
    older furuno gps
    computer with navigation programs installed and tons of charts
    45 hp china diesel with new starter and alternater last year low hours
    4- 6 volt trojan t50 batteries linked for 12 volt system 1 1/2 years old
    homebuilt selfsteering controlled by windvane
    twin bed in captains quarters two crew births
    built in refer needs repair not sure whats wrong
    shower with hot and cold fresh water and sea temp salt water

    21′ sloop made from Glen L plans marine ply with fiberglass over all exterior surfaces. interior treated with WEST system. Bronze fasteners, alum mast and boom, 2 good sails. 5 h.p. long shaft British Seagull outboard. sits on a flat bed tandem axle trailer. All in good condition. Retractable Center board.
