  1. 2013 Hobie Wave

    March 9, 2013

    About this Sailboat:

The Hobie Wave is an easy-to-sail, easy-to-rig speedster that will quickly have you smiling.

The Wave’s underbody shape eliminates the need for daggerboards, and its rotomolded polyethylene hulls are virtually indestructible, making it ideal for beginners and adventurers alike. A large, fully battened, boomless mainsail provides plenty of power in the light stuff, but twists off in a breeze for added control. And should your rig go horizontal, the “Hobie Bob” mast float makes righting the boat simple and safe.

Enjoyed solo or with crew members, the Wave is also available as the Wave Club edition, ideal for schools, organizations or resorts.

  2. 2013 Hobie Getaway

    March 8, 2013

    About this Sailboat:

The Getaway lets you sail with big groups, so nobody gets left on the dock. But unlike “party boats”, the Getaway has serious sailing legs thanks to its powerful, mainsail-driven sailplan and its shaped underbody, which increases upwind performance without the hassle of daggerboards. With the Getaway, there’s no worry about beaching or hull dings; its rotomolded hull is super-durable and impact-resistant. But most impressive is the Getaway’s awesome value – expect years’ worth of big grins and massive fun for a modest price.

  4. 2013 Hobie Wild Cat

    March 7, 2013

    About this Sailboat:

Hobie Cat® and Tiki Water Sports of West Florida Present the Wild Cat Formula 18 Racing Catamaran

True to its name, the ride on the Wild Cat is fast, wild, and exciting. It was first raced at the F18 Worlds in Belgium, July 11-17 and made its U.S. debut at the F18 Nationals in Long Beach, California, September 8-12, 2009. Doug Skidmore, president of Hobie Cat Company, described the Wild Cat as an “unbelievably fast boat that takes F18 racing to a new level.”

The Fiberglass/Foam Sandwich-constructed Hobie® Wild Cat was built by a team of some of the best naval architects, Olympic sailors, and sailmakers in the world with input from the world’s best F18 racers and backed up by Hobie’s own technical and sales/marketing staff. Built for a two-person race crew and raced with a spinnaker for maximum performance, the wave-piercing hull design is designed to conform to Formula 18 racing rules. The ISAF F18 Class is the fastest growing catamaran racing fleet in the world.

Features abound in the Wild Cat. A modern wing mast section effectively becomes part of the sail, providing better lift and less drag while racing. The high aspect rudder and centerboards are hyrdodynamically more efficient than a conventional low aspect design that creates unnecessary drag. They also provide more lift for better windward performance.
