  6. 2003 Dufour 36 classic

    October 19, 2012 by EVAN

    About this Sailboat:

My Name is Ralf Uicker. As the first owner of Philoxenia, I am now offering this beautiful, luxurious yacht for sale.

The boat supported my photographic excursions in the Mediterranean Sea. But since I also started with film productions, I need a more spacious vessel.

This Dufour 36 was built in 2003 and is filled with enough equipment to live aboard: You only need to fill the refrigerator and the water tank and you can go for any goal, up to a world-circumnavigation.

Should you be interested in this fabulous, very stable cruiser, but are yet a beginner, I would be pleased to teach you how to sail this storm proven boat single-handedly in safe control of all operations on board.

Although the boat is one of the fastest in her class, I always preferred sailing her at ease and safely. Most of my relaxed sailing tours were steered by me and the autopilot, thus allowing me to work in my profession as a photographer on appropriate occasions.

The media exposed on this website may give you an impression of how cruising with that boat can be. Also, a book about my travel with Philoxenia to Venice and my eight-week stay there is intended to be published worldwide in the upcoming year. By the way, Venice may be more cost-efficient than you think: I can recommend in all respects Santa Elena Yacht Club which was then only € 25.00 per night.

Philoxenia is berthed in the ACI-Club Marina in Vrboska on the Croatian
island Hvar. For three years I had searched Europe for the most beautiful place to do landscape photography, until I achieved my objective there. The new owner of Philoxenia may choose to rent her current berth for an annual rate of € 3400

Philoxenia was an investment of mine of € 185,000. All taxes and local
fees are paid. I now offer her—including her entire equipment package and the berth in Vrboska—for € 82000.

    Kind regards,

    Ralf

  8. 1972 Dufour Arpege bulbed iron fin keel

    October 19, 2012 by EVAN

    About this Sailboat:

The Arpege was one of the first production cruiser-racers to really go for wide beam to gain interior volume, and one of the reasons it quickly became so popular was that this did not hurt its sailing performance – in fact for several years Arpeges were very competitive racers. Now they make excellent low-budget fast cruisers.
No huge aft cabin (nor fore-cabin either, for that matter) on this boat, but she does have six secure sea berths. Two are in the quarters and there are four more in the saloon:one on each long straight settee, and a pilot berth on each side, snugly above and outboard the settees. She boasts a good-sized chart table and hinging up to allow access to plentiful storage. On deck she has a deep, secure cockpit.Side-decks are comfortingly wide.To top all, her lines are beautiful, with generous overhangs and fine entry and exit lines.

The boat is in port olimpic Barcelona Spain with the possibility to take over the mooring for 250€/month,she is in the water ready to sail out on a long cruise, the engine is the original wel maintained volvo penta MD2 14 HP 2 cylinder diesel with a 1.5 liter/hour cruising speed of 10 knots (20km/h) fuel efficiency,it just had an extensive checkup with new oil & impellor and runs fine .
I am the second owner ,the biggest sails are now installed that usually gives her a cruising speed of 18 knots that are in good condition and there are 5 smaller sails in the bow, where one size smaller foresail has a rip(easy repair)and the smaller mainsail just looks dirty but works fine, the 3 other sails spinaker look like new and I think are never used,
the boat is in good condition with 2 anchors and everything you need to go cruising,it also includes a high range wifi antenna,GPS with worldcharts, raymarine ST2000 autohelm autopilot, new handheld radio and in and outboard stereo, tools & spare parts,220V fridge&freezer including all the original manuals and documentation

  9. 1981 Dufour A 9000

    October 19, 2012 by EVAN

    About this Sailboat:

She is a second hand boat and was sailed in the North and Baltic sea.
Only used privately and not used in charter.

Of the Dufour A 9000 production was only 24th Type I has been designed for Admiralscup as a pure racer. Most of these boats were built as a cruiser-racer with shorter mast and cozy wood development. The unusual decline over the deck was probably built mainly for security reasons. In case of bad weather and in the oncoming sea water can not get out of the cockpit inside the vessel. The sliding handle is a sealed water-tight. Nevertheless, this decline is because a loss of comfort.
The Dufour A 9000 is a fast ship with good upwind performance. The behavior at sea is very pleasant and we had never – even in high seas breaking a bad feeling with our ship. The oblique stem, the attached rudder with skeg, the keel firmly welded to the massive frames and solid construction to withstand give you the feeling and the worst storm this ship can be. Thus, the yacht has an empty weight of aluminum construction, despite more than 9 tonnes. The original price was at that time, according to the Voreigners more than twice as high as that of a comparable Halberg Rassy. Boat building in aluminum is now even more expensive than the wesendlich in CSF; wesendlich but has advantages in safety and durability, the elongation at break of CSF is only about 1%, – the elongation of aluminum 10 times as high. The custom is not the same panic once you’ve had a hard aground, and certainly there is no risk that might break off in rough seas keel or rudder.
Provided you avoid any electrolysis, aluminum timeless. The material is not brittle and can not be “smooth sailing”.

  10. 1969 Dufour Arpege

    October 19, 2012 by EVAN

    About this Sailboat:

The “legendary” Dufour Arpege is a fine boat for shorter cruises, though there are Arpeges which have circumnavigated. L’Esprit has crossed the Atlantic 3 times, won the Chicago-Mackinaw and Around Long Island Races, and has spent many years happily cruising. Owner cannot continue to sail due to injury (NOT boat related!).

    Equipment on Board:

Comes with 9 sails, fair to good, new motor (2008, 6 hrs), new lifelines, new interior cushions, Tac-Tic instruments, Loran, new radio, GPS. Hull, mast, rigging all very sound, a lovely boat.
