The Legacy is for the sailor that is looking for a smaller initial investment and economy in all other factors such as maintenance, trailering fuel consumption, and berthing or storage. It is still built with Com-Pac Yacht’s quality and attention to detail. This is an opportunity to own the best without the expense.

Simply unsnap the mainsheet and fold the boom up to the mast, then fold everything down for trailering. This small yacht can be towed behind the smallest of automobiles and fits into a standard garage without any modification.

Sailing is what it is all about and the Legacy will not disappoint. The mainsail with lapping jib sail plan, in harmony with the keel centerboard configuration of the hull, delivers an efficient, stable, and uncompromising sailing experience

The Com-Pac Horizon Cat is a gaff-rigged, New England style cat boat. The heritage of the Horizon Cat is the famous Cape Cod shoal-draft cat-rigged work boats that plied Nantucket and Vineyard Sounds during the 1900′s. She is known for her seaworthiness, ease of handling, and roominess. This 2004 Horizon Cat is in excellent sailing vessel and a snap to get mast up and down. She has a beautiful navy blue hull. With centerboard up, you can get in close to shore and with centerboard down, you have a vessel that sails like a champ.

She is one of a few 20′ boats that offers all the amenities of boats much larger than her size. A solid tandem axle trailer hauls this sailing vessel easily behind any midsize vehicle and it takes no more than five minutes to launch this boat.

The Horizon Cat is a classic boat for the diehard traditional sailor, a real Cape Cod cat with a shallow, shoal keel with centerboard for added stability and windward performance. A high-aspect, kick-up rudder is incorporated for convenience and extremely light helm. She is quick, nimble and comfortable with a large cockpit and extensive accommodations for a boat this size.

She is one of a kind.

  9. 1992 Com Pac Eclipse

    October 16, 2012

    About this Sailboat:

1992 com pac sailboat. This is a great boat for daysailing and maybe and overnight trip or two. Sails easy/ great- not the fastest but comfortable and reliable. It also has a shallow draft which takes away concerns of shallow water.

    I installed Garmin GPS ($1,200) and speaker/ radio ($500).

always taken care of and kept under cover in the off months. Needs a good cleaning but I just started a company and need the money to get new equipment (unfortunately “sailboats” aren’t equipment. . . yet!)

    Equipment on Board:

sails are in okay condition except a tear in the jib which can be replaced.
