    December 1, 2012

    About this Sailboat:

Up for sale is a 1980 San Juan 28 in great working condition and good cosmetic condition. I am regrettably forced to put her up for sale due to uncertainty about my job location in the coming months. She has been well maintained and has been in freshwater for her known life. She is a very fast boat and is competitive in racing. She is built in the spirit of IOR, with a wide beam and pinched stern, small battened main and massive foresail. I single-hand her about 50% of the time, she is easy to handle even in high wind and seas. She sails well in light (5 knots) and heavy (>30knots) breezes and takes heavy seas with ease. She points to wind very well. With a 2:1 displacement/ballast ratio, fin keel, and spade rudder, she is very stable, forgiving, and responsive.

  3. 1979 Clark San Juan 7.7

    November 27, 2012

    About this Sailboat:

Was a racing boat converted into a day-sailor.
Topside: no boat pox or sponginess to the deck. All chain plates and turnbuckles in great condition. No hull/deck leakage, and a nice sturdy cockpit.
Cabin: no stains or mildew. No leaks around port lights. Plenty of storage space that is easily accessible. V-berth sleeps two, and under cockpit birth sleeps another person. Bulkheads in great condition with no water damage or rot. Cushions aren’t very nice, we covered them in a couple of sheets and throw pillows and it made a world of difference.
Standing rigging: deck area around chain plates in great condition and structurally sound. Deck stepped mast, nice and sturdy. Pins and shackles in great shape as well as the blocks. Five winches in total, one is a two speed, the rest are one speed. No rusting on bolts or nuts.
Outboard: recently added a very sturdy mounting area for the outboard. Outboard is an Evinrude and runs great. It does need a pull cord wound up inside, we always just used an emergency start cord to start the engine though. Tried to wind the pull cord onto motor but just didn’t have enough knowledge of motors to do so. Motor tilts out of water when not in use.
Price is negotiable. Sails are on, fueled up and ready to sail.

    Equipment on Board:

Main sail and jib sail. Spare main sail also. All lines in good condition, plus alot of extra line. Solar panel installed on starboard side of the boat. Regulator for the solar panel. Two radios, one handheld. Installed depth finder. Two deep-cycle marine batteries with battery charger. 12 lb anchor with 100 ft rode and 5 ft of chain. Two extra 9 lb anchors. Up to date safety equipment including: 4 flares, BC fire extinguisher, 2 type II life jackets, 2 type IV throw-able devices, 2 air horns, spot/flood light. Eight liter porta-potty. Two 5-gallon water tanks. Portable anchor light.

    October 18, 2012

    About this Sailboat:

Hard to find! This is the Hurricane, and I hate to sell it but I have no choice. It has an atomic 4 engine in excelent shape that needs nothing because everything that could go wrong with one of these engines has been replaced in the last 20 hours, 3 sails in excelent condition, has a rotary aire marine centeral airconditioner 17,000 btu… I have all reciepts for the boat sence new. No soft spots, the teak needs to be restained again, needs bottom paint when pulled next time (I have 3 gallons of bottom paint $800)that Will give to the buyer of this boat, I also have a new led mast light not yet installed worth $400 to go with the boat. The boat need new running rigging at some point also. ( I sail this boat 2-3 times a week and it handles great, I just put two new marine batteries in it last week.

    About this Sailboat:

Bruce Kirby’s classic design doesn’t stop with fair lines and a fast shape. The 24 uses every bit of interior space to make her the biggest, fast 24-footer around. She is a true cruiser-racer that will give you all the thrills of boat-for-boat competition, plus the ability to get away from it all with your favorite crew for a family weekend on the water.Very lightly used; no signs of collisions or sinking.
    Keel bolts are corrosion-free.
Decks is dry and stiff; no signs of core rot or delamination.
Very minimal spider cracking around stanchions; less than typical for a boat of this age.
