  6. 1973 Allied Mistress

    October 5, 2011

    About this Sailboat:

“Dreamcatcher” is well-used but in good shape for her age. She’s the aft-cabin version of this classic blue water boat with a passage between the aft and main cabins and a spacious engine room beneath the central cockpit. This boat has been a comfortable and reliable cruising home for both the present and previous owners who sailed her extensively around Florida, the Bahamas and Central America. She could use a bit of minor cosmetics and needs bottom paint but other than that
she’s cruise equipped and ready to take you anywhere.

She is presently out of the water in a yard so inspections of all surfaces and interior are readily available.

    Equipment on Board:

The four sails are all in better than fair condition as well as the running rigging. The Genoa is Pro-furl roller furling with new line and parts. This system is highly rated and has been very reliable.

Engine is a 40 horse Perkins; has lots of hours but runs great.

She has GPS, depth, low-draw auto pilot, stereo, VHF, Zodiac dinghy, dock lines, cockpit cushions, sailcovers, dodger and Bimini with a full cover and mosquito netting for the central cockpit.

Large stainless water and fuel tanks seem to take forever to run dry.

There are three anchors: a plow, Bruce and Danforth as well as two 100′ rodes of 3/8 chain, all in good shape with some nylon rodes, as well.

There is a fairly large solar panel which has kept the batteries charged under constant use but it will require a new deck mounting.

I could list all the extras such as life vests, pots, charts, towels and bedding but there is just too much.

  7. 1975 ALLIED SEAWIND

    October 5, 2011

    About this Sailboat:

ALLIED SEAWIND II, KETCH 1976 – $29 (KEY LARGO)

This 1976 Allied Seawind II ketch is a solid, proven world cruiser.

A classic design that stands the test of time. Allied Seawind first gained notoriety as the first fiberglass vessel to circumnavigate the world in 1964. Ketch rigged. Great cruising boat with a pleasant interior.

This is a solid blue water boat. Effectively just two owners from new. This one has been well cared for.

She has a good inventory of sails with two poles, (six sails) the main sail is a brand new DOYLE sail, with one reef, the rest (light air genoa, mizzen staysail, working jib, 135% genoa, mizzen) are in very good condition, she has sail covers …

Her original Westerbeke 30HP diesel engine has only 200 genuine miles !! works great, oil changes carried out, starts first time every time. first owner sailed her off a mooring, and present owner sails whenever possible. Two New house batteries and a new cranking battery. New main switch, bilge pump switch, and a second bilge pump installed recently. THREE New batteries, good interior – new cushions, new topsides paint. She´´s ready to go cruising …

This boat is seaworthy and sea kindly. Never been bumped or bottom scraped on rocks, no hull marks or damage. Bottom professionally done last year for US$6000 by a company in a Northport boatyard (receipts available). Topsides given 3 coats of undercoat and 2 topcoats 4 months ago. Two New large Bomar leak free hatches with smoked glass.

    Equipment on Board:

Various interior lights and a fan. All interior blue cushions are in great condition, all doors and hatches close properly and are waterproof. Three anchors, a 70lb danforth storm anchor , a 40lb plough , a 25lb danforth, both with long new rodes, and a small 15lb danforth lunch hook.

GPS VHF, SATURN compass, propane stove etc. Rigging and lines are in very good condition.

There is a strong owners group and great following for this classic ketch. Owner is moving to a larger boat and would like her sold quickly.

Available at 29K in Florida Keys. E mail for more details & phone contact.
