2009 Iain Oughtred’s Whilly Boat

17 October, 2012 by EVAN

About this Sailboat:

I built this boat myself with plans from Wooden Boat magazine.
The hull is 5 ply 1/4″. Seats and other various parts are white oak and black locust, the mast is yellow pine and the boom and yard are spruce. The sail is a lug ~78 sq feet, which I had made by a real pro in Maine. The boat is a rowboat and sailboat. The plans had two locations for oarlocks but I’ve only installed one. Also included is a pair of oars I made of red oak. Price is firm I spent 4 solid months making this boat.(DOT workers make more holding up a shovel). This boat is in mint condition I only launched it once. Have a nice day.

Equipment on Board:

Trailer included.
