About this Sailboat:
This boat is a reproduction of a Seabright skiff, a traditional small East Coast work boat, a type of sailing dory. It is lapstrake with a narrow plank bottom, built of plywood with a thick pine bottom and steam-bent white oak ribs (riveted), and a cedar centerboard trunk and transom. It has a sprit rig with a self-tending club-foot jib. It has a weighted oak centerboard. Built to be launched through the surf, it has high freeboard and is very stable and seaworthy. It is built to carry a lot of weight, but is easy to sail.
