80% COMPLETE CAPE GEORGE CUTTER
Hull by Cecil M. Lange, 36′ fiber glass. Deck and cabin beams are yellow cedar. Deck 3/8″ sapele mahogany plywood with second layer 3/8″ fir, cabin top is the same as deck material, two layers are 1/4″. ALL SAPELE MAHOGANY is LYODDS of LONDON CERTIFIED. Cabin sides are 1″ thick Fir Plywood. Deck, cabin sides and top are all fiber glassed over. Laminate schedule is matt/ 2 rovings/matt. Cecil M. Lange did the water and diesel tanks, he also made the teak hatches: forward hatch, skylight, turtle/companionway hatch, and two aft lazerett hatches. Doug Mosen – Boat Electrician, did most of the electrical design in conjunction with me. Cecil advised me and went beyond that by coming over from Port Townsend for dinner and in person advise. He stated at the launching that Pearl was one of the two best built boats outside of his yard.

This vessel is an all Fiber Glass constructed Sail Boat.
The interior sides are 2 wide by ½ Port Orford Cedar strips.
The interior decks are 2 Honduras Mahogany strips separated by ½ Port Orford strips.
All other interior wood is Sepely Mahogany plywood.
All exterior wood is Burmese Teak.
The hull has 6 Sea Cocks, all are Bronze ball valves with a stainless steel ball and nylon seat.
There is berthing for 5 persons with a sink, shower and toilet facilities.
The galley has a 2 burner propane stove with oven, S/S sink, 5.2 cu. ft. refrigerator and a 5.2 cu. ft. freezer.
The vessels auxiliary power is a 36 Hp. 4 cylinder Demler Benz 0m536 engine attached to 2.04:1 Paragon P23L reduction gears driving a 1 1/8 SS shaft.
Average speed is 6 knots

OTHER RANDOM NOTES
Boat also has an isolation transformer on it which magnetically isolates the shore power(110V) from a hard wired-like connection. Yeah the boat is one of a kind…………..All my exterior hardware is of high Quality. Wherever ANY fasteners penetrated Hull/Deck or Cabin Top I chamfer as to create a kind of O-ring which few people take the time to do. This decreases the possibility of water penetration. Custom made coil spring mattress. Engine only has 20-30 hrs on it. The freezer and refrigeration are not completely finished but includes everything to finish it. She still needs the mast and rigging. She was launched in 97 I believe and was lived aboard for a few years and then the project was dropped. The Hull is insulated with 3/8′ (I believe it’s called ) Klegacell (sp?) That’s a cool feature for two reasons 1. Cuts down on inside sweating and 2. It makes the boat overall stronger because it super-reinforces the bulkwarks (sp?) This would be an amazing vessel for someone who wants to finish her off.
