13 November, 2012 by EVAN

About this Sailboat:

This Irwin is as good as it gets in a fine 54′ Cruising Design. She is very well equipped and equipped with the best gear you can buy. The Owner is particularly knowledgeable and meticulous, always maintaining his boat in superior condition.
The boat is probably the finest Irwin 54 anywhere. The Owner has just completed his trip down through the Windward Islands and presents his boat in excellent condition, ready for the next Owner to set off on another serious cruise. A careful reading of the listing will convince you to inspect her. When you see her, you will want her. Please contact me for the full listing.

Equipment on Board:

Entering the Main Cabin from the Cockpit, you are in a beautiful sitting area with solid teak woodwork in “as-new” condition. The Nav Station is complete, also solid teak, aft to port. There are windows all around the Salon with adjustable blinds. Beautiful storage lockers behind the settees are closed off by teak louvered doors. Aft of the galley is the Master Stateroom with its centerline bed. Two 16,000 BTVs service this area.

Going forward, a Hall leads past a Stateroom to starboard and a Guest Head to port. Another Guest Stateroom is all the way forward.

Aft of the Salon, to starboard is the big Galley with a U-shaped counter and two opening ports. Aft of the Galley is the Master Stateroom with its centerline bed.

An amazing feature of the design and “This Irwin” in particular is the terrific Cockpit. The hardtop is not just functional, its attractively constructed. There are enclosure curtains (with lift-outs), on all four sides plus a separate set of sun shade curtains outside of that. The Helm seat is comfortable with great visibility. The lounge seats, port and starboard, are very comfortable with a proper backrest. The Pedestal for the wheel and instruments also holds a fold-down teak table. There is a 5” compass in a chrome binnacle, excellent lighting, drink holders and easy access to the electric winches. Not enough can be said about the excellence of this part of the boat. As designed, covered, enclosed and detailed, it adds a tremendous amount of livable space and protection from the weather, spray and sun. An added feature is the walkthrough, deck-level openings to the side decks, which make it easy to get around the boat and eliminates having to climb over the sides of the lounges to get on Deck. These can be closed off by heavy fiberglass doors.
