About this Sailboat:
This two owner T40 is a fresh water boat, been in Lake Superior it’s entire life. The Tartan 40 was designed by Sparkman and Stephens. This T40 is great for cruising skinney water with a draft of 4’9″, board up and 8’6″, board down. We have comfortably sailed her all over Lake Superior. She is hull #35,with two staterooms and one head. The galley has propane stove , doulbe sinks, one deep and one shallow, 12 volt refrigeration and plenty of storage. The life lines and running rigging have been replaced. Tankage is 100 gal water, 50 gals fuel and 17 gals waste.
Equipment on Board:
Electronics include C80 chart plotter/radar, ST60 speed, depth and wind, simrad auto pilot and Uniden VFH, with remote mic. A 45lb Delta has 150′ of chain and 120′ of rode and a V2 windlass. The backup anchor is Danford. Sails are a main and a 135% UK tape drive on a Harken roller furler. A new 3 stage battery charger keeps the 3 house bank and one starting battery well charged. A 24′ aluminum whisker pole.
