About this Sailboat:
This sweet sailing double-ender is well respected and heavily built from solid, hand-laid fiberglass. The cutter rigged “Vancouver 42” Center Cockpit model was designed by Robert Harris and has been proven by many cruisers to be fast, easily short-handed, a truly “go anywhere in safety and comfort” vessel and a very spacious live aboard. She has a beautiful interior, hand crafted in quarter sawn teak and vertical grain spruce with a solid teak and holly cabin sole.
The three cabin layout has a huge, private aft cabin with an almost king-size berth (new mattress foam) with ensuite head and separate large shower stall, a large, private forward cabin that sleeps two, with it’s own head and shower and a capacious main salon with room to sleep four or sit eight at dinner.
Multiple overhead hatches and opening ports make the interior light, airy and well ventilated. Really huge amounts of storage throughout. Large tanks: 150 Gals.water; 165 Gals. fuel; 40 Gals holding.
Recent work:
7/2008: New 43 HP Kubota Beta Marine Diesel, now has approx. 450 hours.
Externals:
The boat needs cosmetics: gelcoat is old but still buffs out ok; teak needs oiling. No teak decks! Yippee!
Internals:
Inside the boat is excellent; the varnished surfaces are beautiful
The boat with it’s large, private aft cabin, makes an excellent liveaboard. I have had guests stay for upwards of a week and while their presence was noticeable, the two heads and showers make the boat very comfy.
The slip may be available temporarily as a live-aboard.
