I bought a 1983 Renken Tangerine sailboat in 2001 and have been very happy with it. I’ve since made upgrades on it such as a mastlight, new light blue paint on the hull, white cloud paint on the cockpit and trunk decks, a DC electical plugin on the cockpit transom,an electric motor as back up for the old mariner 4hp 1 stroke outboard, a homemade galley with 4 gallon water tank located on the bow loft, a new working jib and all new running lights, cabin light and trailer lights. It’s one of the most practical boats to have; easy to sail, trailer, launch and bring in. I’ve taken my Renkin 18 to different lakes around Missouri towing it with a Chevy S-10 6 cylinder pickup. I hardly even know it’s back there. BEAUTIFUL LITTLE BOAT. Mine is named “Fystie”. I intend to keep sailing with it. It’s so sturdy and almost indestructable.
