About this Sailboat:

The Newport 28 Mk II is a fast, comfortable racer/cruising boat for a family of 5 or a singlehander. It’s relatively light displacement and ballast-to-displacement ratio make it fast yet stiff in a good breeze. It is fully equipped for racing or cruising, with all the comforts for weekending and relaxing in that secluded cove.

Equipment on Board:

New North roller-furling genoa and fully battened main; spinnaker with pole, 150 genoa, working jib, all sail bags, mainsail cover. Custom boom tent/sunshade, bimini top, cockpit cushions. Rear cockpit with pedestal steering & emergency tiller, fold-down ped. table w/ drink holder. Enclosed head w/ holding tank, shower and sink. Galley with Kenyon alcohol/electric cooktop, builtin ice box & sink. Hanging locker w/ 2 drawers. VHF radio, stereo/cd player, knotmeter, depth meter,engine hour meter, pedestal compass, Loran C797, handheld GPS. 2 banks deep cycle 6 volt batt., 110 shore power w/ cabin outlets, 6 cabin lights. Fold-down table in main cabin. Sleeps 6; 2 in V-berth, 2 on fold-out double in main cabin, 1 on settee, 1 on quarter berth. Day shower in cockpit, engine gauges in cockpit, stern boarding ladder. Fortress bow anchor, Danforth stern anchor. 2 fire ext., 4 adult life preservers, throwable horseshoe and 2 cushions. 2 Self-tailing 2-speed Lewmar winches for jib sheets, 4 Lewmar 1-speeds for halyards, main boom traveller with boom-end sheeting. New bottom paint with barrier coat in 2010. Spare parts inventory, owner’s manual for boat, engine, and instruments. Universal diesel engine has less than 150 hours.
