About this Sailboat:
Dulcinea is an incredibly beautiful boat in excellent condition. Built by hank Chamberlain on Lopez Island in 1983 of clear Honduran mahogany on oak. No rot, no leaks, no thru hulls, no electronics. Cockpit is oiled. Deck, topsides, bottom and masts were recently professionally refinished. Easily maintained, wonderful to sail.
Remarkably good in both light and heavy air, the Rozinante has a superb cockpit that comfortably accommodates up to six, but is easily single handed. This is one of the most pleasurable small yachts for day sailing and pocket cruising ever designed. The Rozinante likely best represents L. F.’s personal philosophy, and he was having one built at the time of his death.
Because the boat is so maneuverable and flexible under sail an outboard is preferred. Inboard motors on these boats upset the balance, add weight, create complexity and intrude on the cockpit. The original Hasse & Petrick sails are in excellent condition. Interior has two berths, small galley cabinet and port-a potti.
Equipment on Board:
4HP Johnson LS, 9′ oar, manual and electric bilge pumps.
