IMAGINE is in great shape. This McGregor 25 has all the features one could ask for. She can be beached or enjoyed in shallow water. She can be raced competitively under PHRF rules or cruised for a weekend or a week. She is easily rigged in 30 minutes and can be stored on the trailer in a 30 foot space. Her foam flotation makes her unsinkable. She is a great boat to learn on and still gives a thrill to an experienced Sailor. This is a great boat to sail, very forgiving of mistakes and can easily be handled by one person.
We have completely stripped the boat in April 2011. All cousins have been washed, the cabin ceiling was painted, all nuts and bolts changed to stainless steel, all electrical wiring has been replaced. The trailer got new fenders and was completely repainted. The hull antifouling paint was done in 2010. The cockpit wood work was replaced and two wood panels have been added to the cabin aft wall.
She is currently on a mooring and will be hauled out in mid October. We sailed her in Niantic and Long Island Sound. She sleeps 4 comfortably but can accommodate 5. Unfortunately we have come aground with the keel down and the keel was lost. The hull does not take on water. So if you buy her, the only work she needs is a new keel. It is her 625 pound ballast, so its required to sail. This boat should sell between $4500 and $5000. So at $2750 it is a bargain.
