1982 Island Packet

Added 5 October, 2011

About this Sailboat:

982 26ft Island Packet cutter rigged sailboat $16,500

I am the 3rd owner I think. It spent most of it’s life on an inland lake in South Carolina. I sailed her all summer on the NC coast and took her to the Keys and The Exumas this winter with no problems with the engine or rigging. I just returned less than 2 weeks ago. There is some repair on the swing keel that should be done, as usually is the case, but I sailed all year with her just as she is. There is an engine hrs meter but I’m not sure it’s accurate. It current reads around 600hrs. Sails in good shape, probably original. Sail covers a bit worn. There has been some leakage which has caused some rot around the starboard lockers. It is a solid layed boat so there are no soft spots anywhere. The hull is solid. Electronics all work fine ecept the wind speed stopped working and I haven’t looked into it at all. Over all she needs a little tlc, mostly just cosmetic like woodwork etc. No survey info.

Reduced price from 16,500 to $14,900
