1981 Newport Shipyard Frers Custom

About this Sailboat:

Previously named “YEOMAN”, “DYNAMO”, “LEGEND”; KAHUNA is an aluminum hull Frers that was raced in the Admirals Cup in the early 1980’s and Prince Charles was reported to have been a member of the crew. She won the Admirals Cup, then has gone on to sail and race on the Great Lakes until this point in time. The current owner has owned the boat for 16 years and is moving on to a 51′ yacht and is eager to sell this boat. She has a sound hull, no leaks and maintenance annually will keep her in good condition for decades to come.

Equipment on Board:

58 HP Westerbeke Diesel, 60″ stainless steel wheel at helm, rebuilt Danforth Compass, 12 lewmar winches with coffee grinder system and 10″ diameter drums, spinnaker pole is aluminum, New mylar/kevlar mainsail in 2011, #1 AP genoa-good, #2 #3 #4 jibs in fair/good condition and .5 star cut, .6 downwind and 1.5 oz spinnakers all good condition. 8 pipe berths, galley, new head, nav station, lighting and led engine room light, also 4 bilge pumps for running and heeling dewatering as needed. New masthead wiring and wiring upgrade in cabin. Feathering prop, anchore with approx 12′ chain and 150′ rope. Raymarine ST 60 wind, depth, speed, log, etc. new VHF, 2 8 cell dozer batteries, volvo/penta hydraulic v-drive, various halyards sheets and guys.
