About this Sailboat:
Reduced – Built by Hughes in Canada 1981. Purchased by present owner 1986. This boat has given a lot of people a lot of fun – from little children to grand-parents and everybody in between. I have owned the boat for 25 years and have taken many trips across to the Bahamas and The Keys on “the outside” and across Lake Okeechobee- plenty of room for 4 adults. Originally equipped with an OMC Saildrive which has now been completely removed and replaced by a quiet reliable 2005 Electric start 15 HP Mercury outboard, longshaft with 10 Amp Charger. It’s the perfect motor for casual cruising and family fun. Mainsail was replaced in 2001 – all other sails are original including Jib, 150 Genoa, Cruising Chute. Light wind drifter sail is also included. Steering wheel now removed and replaced by tiller – creates more space in the cockpit and handles very well. 5ft draft with 4000 lb externally bolted lead keel and high aspect sail ratio makes for a high performance for those who might race. Propane stove/oven and pressure water system. Needs a minimum of 43ft bridge clearance. Mast is stepped on deck and can be lowered if really needed. No blistering – hull is in great shape . Most recently hauled in June 2009 to remove original inboard engine – numerous pictures available. Looking for an owner who will bring out the best in the “old girl” – currently named “Blue Jay”. It’s a reluctant sale but all good things must end one day!! For more info call John at (# removed) or (# removed)
