About this Sailboat:
This is a darling, 1979 27′ Oday, 9.9 Yanmar DIESEL with solid fiberglass hull and full keel. We are the 2nd owners. Used Fresh Water only.
Galley, Head and front birth.
We replaced bulkheads and some cabinetry this year.
This is a very good cruising boat.
For new sailors, we will include 3 – two hour sailing lessons (in the Chicago Metro area).
Equipment on Board:
New main with full battens, 2 reefing points and 140% jib sail with UV leading edge, CDI Furler. Sails one year old
Tiller sailboat and a detachable auto pilot comes with.
9.9 hp Yanmar Diesel (800 hrs), with new fuel tank, fuel gauge & pump. Fold away prop. 3 year old cutlass bearing and shaft seal.
Knot indicator & deck compass.
Two bilge pumps one auto electric, the other manual.
LED cabin & running lights. Solar battery charger, shore power with dual batteries & battery level indicators.
New halyard and mooring lines. On board water tank & potty. I think we have 5 extra sails including Genoa. Two sets of Captain winches & handles.
Three bumpers, Four life jackets, some lines, 250′ anchor rhode (line) w Danford Anchor.
Galley w sink. Fold out Galley table, flat screen tv w dvd player. Alcohol stove does not work. On board porta poddy.
Three years ago finished hull, below water line, with 5 coats Interlux 2000 epoxy primer paint & finished with VC17 anti fouling paint.
Two Fire extinguishers, Marine Radio.
As stated above, bulkheads replaced 12/2010 with reinforced chain plates.
Why Sell? Well we have a line on a 40′. If we sell we will buy the 40′, if not, we’ll keep Rascal as she is a fine craft.
