About this Sailboat:
1978 Oday 20. In very good condition.
The Oday 20 combines a big main with a small jib, making jib sheet winches unnecessary. The Oday 20 is easy to sail and perfect for beginners looking to get into sailing. This boat is very easy to trailer. I do so with a 4 cylinder Kia.
Equipment on Board:
The 20′ is a cruiser and comfortable for overnight trips. Officially the 20′ sleeps 4, but we have used it for one person overnight. I have all cushions and they are in good shape, making sleeping in the Vberth very enjoyable. The boat has water-resistant cushions for the cockpit. I have sailed this boat for 3 seasons.
Specs: 400lbs lead ballast
floats in 14” of water, center board dwn 3’11
displacement 2425 lbs with 4 adults
self bailing cockpit and self- righting
New VHF with new antenna
new 120V west marine panel( all new wiring )
I purchased a refurbished Yamaha 6hp 2stroke from an outboard repair shop in Mattapoisett, the shop is one of the best around, motor runs excellent. The motor has been serviced prior to start of this season.
New Interstate battery with new shut off switch.
Outboard is electric start and new wiring put in this season.
New wiring for mast light as well. ( All electrical work done by a professional, paperwork available)
New mast step block (makes for an easier time when stepping mast).
All new standing and running rigging replaced and serviced at D&R marine, prior to start of this season. If you know Oday then you know D&R.
Sails are in very good shape. 1 main 1 jib. The prior owner replaced the rudder with a $800 kick up rudder, she is sweet.
New stereo with Ipod MP3 input put in this year with AB speakers mounted into cockpit. Music really puts the experience of sailing over the top.
During the winter the boat gets shrink wrapped and sits next to my home on trailer so no need for marina storage fees.
double axel trailer that is in excellent condition, lighting is in working order.
Freshly painted dinghy most likely would go with purchase.
