1978 Montgomery Nor’Sea 27

6 October, 2011 by EVAN

About this Sailboat:

Boat Show Condition. Price includes highway trailer in excellent condition. This Nor’Sea 27 is one of only a half-dozen American production boats designed and built to spend a lifetime on the ocean, rather than in a marina.Rigging is 7/32 x 19 stainless steel wire, having nearly three times the yield strength required. Turnbuckles are 3/8″ size with forged bronze bodies and stainless toggles and jaws, giving a 2-1 safety factor. Chainplates are 1/4″ x 1 1/2″ stainless steel secured by five bolts going through the reinforced hull. This Nor’Sea 27 is an incredibly special boat. It breaks all the rules. With an inboard engine, cutaway full keel, full galley, a head, refrigeration, over 6′ headroom, nice sized v-berth, aft cabin, and center cockpit – the Nor’Sea 27 has the comfort, amenities, and seaworthiness of a much larger boat. But even more unbelievable … its trailerable! “Bucket List Boat” Call Leo: (# removed) or email: Leo@LeoCrowley.com

Equipment on Board:

The Nor’Sea 27 is a heavily-rigged sloop with moderate displacement, a shoal draft of 3” 10’ and the 8ft beam which allows trailering without a permit. This Nor’Sea has undergone a complete restoration with no expense spared. New Nav./Electronics package. New 25 hp Westerbeke with 27 hours. This Nor’Sea is a recent Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortez Vet. Excellent condition. All boat documentation available for review.
