About this Sailboat:
Ready to sail, but a bit of a project as well. Purchased in August 2009 in Niceville. I’ve done as much work as I could since then, but a coming move forces the sale before I could finish it all. The Cat 30 is a coastal cruiser with a large v-berth, head, saloon that seats 4-5 and sleeps two more, with an opposite bench and a quarter berth on the port side. Sleeps 6 total, sails with 8 on a nice day and people all over the deck. Galley has two sinks, cold storage. Solid boat overall, no soft spots in the deck, both sails (headsail furling). All new deck hardware done through epoxy filled water proofed holes.
Equipment on Board:
Work done by myself:
New Garhauer line controlled traveler installed with backing plates (beats the old curved car traveler by a mile)
New rail-mounted solar panel charger with new regulator
Two new Optima no-maintenance deep cycle batteries
Two new Whale gusher foot pumps for both head and galley, with new Whale adjustable faucets
New head counter-top
New laminate galley counter top (matches new head counter top)
New head and galley trim rails.
New Rule 500 gpm automatic bilge pump with internal switch.
New Rule 2000 gpm bilge pump, not installed.
New AC master CB (wired to shore power)
Rebuilt furling unit with just purchased used jib (not in photos)
New stay-sail x jib halyard (yep, overkill)
New mainsail halyard
Rebuilt head with holding tank-to-discharge system that eliminates Y-valves (and remains legal!)
New hand made pine saloon table
New port and starboard running lights mounted to bow pulpit (removed from anchor locker, light lenses remain in hull)
New backing plates for 1/2 of stanchions (got caught out mid-project, finished all the ones I had on hand)
