About this Sailboat:
1972 Albin Vega, 27 feet, Swedish built pocket cruiser, cutaway full keel, 2 mains, 5 head sails, double settees w/ lee cloths, new upholstery, table sets up in cabin or cockpit, new bottom August 99, interior has been painted last summer. Beautiful teak and mahogany details inside and out (some pieces need to be replaced/refinished due to weather/moisture damage), manual bilge pump stopped working, and the electrical wiring needs to be replaced. She has been in the water for the past 12 years.
Tranquila is a sturdy boat. She and her sister ship sailed together from Sweden to Panama in 1972. The boat was purchased by the third owner in Panama in 1986 and he sailed her to the states. She is fast and forgiving. A safe first boat. Membership with the American Vega Association. This is a well-balanced, easy-sailing boat. I hate to part with her, but I don’t have the time or money to put into her. She needs to be sailed and given a little TLC.
Asking price: $ 9,000 O/B/O
Note: These pictures are about 10 years old and I don’t have any recent pictures at this time.
Equipment on Board:
Accommodations and layout:
1. The Albin Vega is a sturdy built vessel capable of safely cruising area lakes or the Seven Seas. With her modern hull design the Vega is a great sailing machine and offers maximum living and storage space below.
2. The aft cockpit, preferred by many cruising sailors, affords 3 large lazzaretts for bulk storage of fenders, line and other essential equipment.
Coaming is high back and comfortable. Tranquila has been equipped with a custom mahogany poop deck (needs refinishing) that can be used
as a swim platform and for storage of an additional anchor and outboard motor.
3. Moving forward thru the companion way find the galley to port and the sink starboard. Ample dry storage compartments for dishes, pots and pans, and food stuffs are provided. Two settees that convert to sea bunks (with leeboards) abound. The forward vee berth sleeps two adults
comfortably. Again, ample storage for sails, clothing, tools and equipment is a feature of this well-appointed cruising sailboat. Tranquila is currently equipped with Jabsco Manual Marine Toilet with holding tank. She is also equipped with central heat and air.
