19 October, 2012 by EVAN

About this Sailboat:

ANIMA is a well outfitted and maintained classic gaff rigged double ender. Her rigid construction with two bulkheads and small cabin tops is designed for seaworthiness, stability. Ample deck space high lifes line and solid stanchions makes working on deck comfortable and safe.
A huge engine room gives excellent visibility and access to the engine and provides extensive storage space.

All materials, dimensions and construction methods during the building process were approved by the “Germanischer Lloyd”, Hamburg, Germany. The frames are angle-profile steel. Planking is 35mm oak, which has been stored and dried for 4 years prior to use. Planks are caulked with hemp and the grooves are caulked with PU caulking. All planking and caulking is still original and in immaculate condition resulting in no leaking and a dry bilge.

The deck is 30mm larch, recently (2008) glassed with 2 layers of woven mat with epoxy resin. The 3.5tons full length keel is from Ferro cement. Internal S/S rudder shaft with wheel steering and socket for an auxiliary tiller. Well maintained and fully equipped after 35 years under the current owner and a successful three years circumnavigation she is ready forsale/sail to a committed and somewhat passionate new ownership for another circumnavigation.
