About this Sailboat:
1969 Columbia 26 Mark II Sailboat, FRESHWATER
Columbia Yacht Corp.
Designed by William H. Tripp, the Columbia 26 Mark II sales brochure states that the boat features a broad flush deck with a higher freeboard that insures safer, drier sailing in heavy weather. Control is assured by the deep, balanced spade rudder.
This boat has a few issues and needs some general TLC; however, once restored, it will provide many happy days on the water cruising, racing, or just lazing at the dock.
The donor of the boat pointed out that the aft starboard hull/keel joint has a hairline crack that allows minor leakage (see photo). The cockpit sole also needs fiberglass. Rudder shows signs of leaking on starboard side The requires some interior restoration including wiring, plumbing, and propane delivery. The bottom of the boat has two coats of antifouling paint. All teak needs cleaning and oiling. Port sail locker lid is cracked. Wood trim missing on transom.
This boat was sailed in 2008.
