1963 Herreshoff 28

5 October, 2011 by EVAN

About this Sailboat:

great deal for the money
L. Francis Herreshoff’s classic H-28 design, shipyard modified to 29 ½’ with increased length, beam, and freeboard, as well as a bowsprit and a doghouse. Designed for seakeeping in New England waters, her 4’ draft is also excellent for bays, rivers, and trips to the Bahamas – done several times. The split rig is exceptionally easy to handle. High combings make the cockpit exceptionally comfortable. Lovingly cared for and professionally maintained for last 29 years, TGIF catches many eyes, enamoring passers by with her looks and sailors with her performance. The owner of this boat would be particularly happy to see TGIF in the hands of a new captain that knows and loves sailing wooden boats.

Reason for sale: Owner now has a 41’ wooden yawl.
